Mission Moment - YMCA Teens In Action to Support Vaccines for Street Vendors
In April, Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA “Know Your Roots” Immigrant Youth Program launched their teen-led project by taking to the streets of Boyle Heights to provide street vendors with outreach, education and enrollment assistance for COVID-19 vaccines. By removing language and technological barriers, YMCA youth leaders have helped nearly 100 street vendors to get vaccinated, helping to protect the health and safety of the vendors and their families.
